OBJECTIVE

  • To raise awareness of the legal purchase age.
TOP ^

DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE

  • The legal drinking age changed in the Netherlands in January 2014 from 16 (for beer and wine) to 18 which prompted a new slogan to replace the “Not yet 16? Not a drop” slogan.
  • STIVA thinks the use of alcohol under 18 is alcohol abuse.  To make people aware that drinking is not for minors, the “Geen 18” slogan is added to all alcohol advertising and other communication (print, television, cinema, billboards, websites, etc.) by national, regional and local partners.
TOP ^

IMPACT

  • The slogan is shown on every alcohol advertisement in the Netherlands.
